LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced he has authorized the deployment of 10 state troopers to the Texas border effective immediately. The deployment comes in response to a request for assistance from the state of Texas, and follows Governor Pillen's promise to back Texas and Governor Greg Abbott in their fight to protect the southern border from illegal immigrants and dangerous drugs entering the country. Texas has accepted Nebraska's Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) offer for support from the Nebraska State Patrol.
The passage of LB574 marked an historic day for the state of Nebraska. This legislation, which had the support of 33 senators, sent a clear message that Nebraskans are united in providing protections for our children, born and unborn, so they may have brighter and promising future.

LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen is urging Nebraskans to submit nominations for ServeNebraska's ninth annual Step Forward Awards. The Step Forward Awards are the most prestigious awards given to volunteers in Nebraska and celebrate those who go above and beyond to serve their community. Award recipients will be selected by the Governor and honored at the 2023 Step Forward Awards ceremony in the fall. Businesses, civic clubs, schools, and other organizations are encouraged to submit the names of individuals they wish to recognize for their efforts. Nominations must be submitted by July 1, 2023.

The new rule could prevent states from enforcing state laws and regulations to protect fairness in women's and girls' sports. The governors criticized the Biden administration for caving to highly politicized gender ideology and changing the rules in a way that does not accord with law. They asked for the rule to be withdrawn immediately until the Supreme Court is given the ability to weigh in.
