LINCOLN, NE -- Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced two interim leadership appointments at the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

LINCOLN, NE – With a deadline drawing near, Governor Jim Pillen is reminding Nebraskans about the value of participating in the upcoming Governor’s Ag and Economic Development Summit. Registrations must be submitted by the end of business on Friday, July 21. The Summit is put on in collaboration with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) and the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA). The event will take place August 8-9, 2023, at the Younes Conference Center North in Kearney.

LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen issued a statement following news that final state General Fund tax receipts for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 exceeded projections by $3 million, which will be transferred into the Cash Reserve Fund.

The group has multiple stops scheduled throughout the country during the week-long visit, starting Sunday, July 9. LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen has issued a disaster declaration for Boyd County, in the aftermath of a damaging storm. Heavy rain resulted in severe flooding on June 23 and 24, 2023, taking a toll on local roads, bridges, culverts and sanitary sewer pipes.

LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced the resignation of Dannette R. Smith, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).  Smith was appointed CEO in January 2019 by then Governor Pete Ricketts. She will assume a role with a national firm that supports health and human services agencies across the U.S. Her last day at DHHS will be August 4.

LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim PIllen has issued an executive order (EO) pursuant to the creation of a new medal to be awarded by the Nebraska National Guard recognizing special acts of heroism.

LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced he is accepting applications for a newly created at large position on the Tax Equalization and Review Commission. The new position is legislatively mandated through passage of LB 243 (2023). The six-year term will start July 1, 2023, and continue until January 1, 2028.
