Governor Pillen Touts Trade Mission Potential for Nebraska

Lincoln, NE – Reflecting on his recent trade mission, Governor Jim Pillen said Vietnam offers significant potential for doing even more business with Nebraska. The Governor led a delegation of more than 20 including government, business and educational representatives during a week-long visit that culminated with Gov. Pillen meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Gov. Pillen Reminds Nebraskans About Summit Deadline

LINCOLN, NE – With a deadline drawing near, Governor Jim Pillen is reminding Nebraskans about the value of participating in the upcoming Governor’s Ag and Economic Development Summit. Registrations must be submitted by the end of business on Friday, July 21. The Summit is put on in collaboration with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) and the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA). The event will take place August 8-9, 2023, at the Younes Conference Center North in Kearney.

Governor Pillen Leads Delegation on First Trade Mission to Vietnam

LINCOLN, NE -- Governor Jim Pillen will lead a delegation to Vietnam aimed at growing trade opportunities that will benefit Nebraska. The group has multiple stops scheduled throughout the country during the week-long visit, starting Sunday, July 9. Other members of the team include Nebraska Department of Agriculture Director Sherry Vinton, Chancellor Joanne Li of the University of Nebraska – Omaha and ag-related business, academic and government representatives.

Governor Pillen Announces Resignation of DHHS CEO Smith

LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced the resignation of Dannette R. Smith, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).  Smith was appointed CEO in January 2019 by then Governor Pete Ricketts. She will assume a role with a national firm that supports health and human services agencies across the U.S. Her last day at DHHS will be August 4.
