Governor Pillen Urges Volunteer Nominations for the ServeNebraska 2023 Step Forward Awards

LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen is urging Nebraskans to submit nominations for ServeNebraska's ninth annual Step Forward Awards. The Step Forward Awards are the most prestigious awards given to volunteers in Nebraska and celebrate those who go above and beyond to serve their community. Award recipients will be selected by the Governor and honored at the 2023 Step Forward Awards ceremony in the fall. Businesses, civic clubs, schools, and other organizations are encouraged to submit the names of individuals they wish to recognize for their efforts. Nominations must be submitted by July 1, 2023.

Governor Pillen Joins Governors in Denouncing Biden Admin Attack on Women's Sports

LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen joined fellow Republican governors in denouncing the Biden administration's proposed rules change to Title IX. The new rule could prevent states from enforcing state laws and regulations to protect fairness in women's and girls' sports. The governors criticized the Biden administration for caving to highly politicized gender ideology and changing the rules in a way that does not accord with law. They asked for the rule to be withdrawn immediately until the Supreme Court is given the ability to weigh in.

LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen joined the Nebraska Farm Bureau and other agriculture leaders in expressing disappointment over the U.S. Supreme Court's opinion upholding California's Proposition 12. The case stems from a 2018 California ballot initiative banning the sale of pork that doesn’t meet that state’s unilateral standards.
