Gov. Pillen Declares State of Emergency for Counties Along Missouri River

LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen is acting proactively to mitigate the impact of any flooding that happens along the Missouri River. Today, he declared a state of emergency for those counties that abut the river, which will immediately free up state funds and resources, should the need arise. The proclamation confers authority to Nebraska’s Adjutant General to activate those resources, to protect lives and property.

Gov. Pillen Authorizes Helicopter & Crew Deployment to Flood-Affected Area of Iowa

LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen has authorized the deployment of a military helicopter and crew to assist with search and rescue operations in and around Sioux City in northwest Iowa. The four Army Guard members from the Nebraska National Guard departed earlier this afternoon and will begin operations immediately,  lasting through June 24.

Over the past few weeks, Nebraskans across the state have begun receiving their property valuation notices. The common reaction to those statements can be summed up in one word -- outrage.
