LINCOLN, NE – Today, the Judicial Nominating Commission for the County Court Judge for the Sixth Judicial District (Burt, Cedar, Dakota, Dixon, Dodge, Thurston and Washington Counties) provided the following four names for consideration by Governor Jim Pillen: Sara Bauer, Fremont, NE; Luke Henderson, Norfolk, NE; Louvontree Hunter, Dakota City, NE; and Patrick Runge, Omaha, NE.
LINCOLN, NE – Governor Pillen had a phone call with U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack this week to inform him of livestock losses recently experienced by cattle producers. The combination of extreme temperatures, high humidity and lack of air movement over the course of several days impacted cattle feeders in the east central region of the state. Gov. Pillen is requesting Sec. Vilsack’s help in ensuring producers receive timely and appropriate federal support through existing disaster assistance programs such as the Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP).
LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced the deployment of more than 60 Nebraska Army National Guard soldiers to the Texas border in support of Operation Lone Star. The group will depart on Wednesday, Aug. 2 and will return home in early September. The soldiers are tasked with providing additional observation and reporting near the border, which will assist agencies that are conducting security and law enforcement efforts.
LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen recognized veterans of the Korean War, with a signed proclamation and the presentation of challenge coins. He was joined by Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs (NDVA) Director John Hilgert, Nebraska National Guard Adjutant General Craig W. Strong and Nebraska Chapter President Dan Ryberg of the Korean War Veterans Association (KWVA).
