Gov. Pillen Hosts Ceremonial Bill Signing to Highlight Military Centric Legislation

LINCOLN, NE – Against a backdrop of flags and military helicopters, Governor Jim Pillen was joined by state senators today as he signed ceremonial copies of four bills supporting the Nebraska’s National Guard (NENG). The ceremony took place at the Army Aviation Support Facility #1, on the National Guard Base in Lincoln. Members of active and retired military, Lieutenant Governor Joe Kelly, NENG Adjutant General Craig Strong, media and guests were also on hand for the event.

Gov. Pillen Expresses Appreciation to USACE for Monitoring of River Conditions

LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen is expressing his appreciation to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for taking the proactive step of monitoring conditions on the Missouri River leading into and through this winter. Confirmation of that action came shortly after the Governor sent a letter to the Corps reminding of potential dangers posed by low water levels on the river. Low flows and ice jams could severely impact electric generation and water treatment services to Nebraska customers.

Capitol Tree Lighting & Hometown Christmas Details Released

LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen and First Lady Suzanne are inviting Nebraskans to two holiday events on Dec. 8. The first is the annual lighting of the State Christmas Tree. The second event, which will follow immediately after, is the Hometown Christmas at the Governor’s Residence. This year, it includes a salute to veteran and active military. Both events are free.
