LINCOLN, NE – This week, Governor Jim Pillen and state leaders will embark on a diplomatic and trade mission to the Czech Republic and Germany. The delegation includes representatives from the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA), Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED), Nebraska National Guard, the University of Nebraska, the state’s agriculture and banking industries, and the ag tech sector. The mission will take place from November 7-14.
LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced his appointment of Natalie G. Nelsen-Pacey of Holdrege as county court judge in the 10th Judicial District. That district includes Adams, Clay, Fillmore, Franklin, Harlan, Kearney, Nuckolls, Phelps and Webster counties.
LINCOLN, NE – Today, Governor Jim Pillen announced his appointment of Justice Jeffrey J. Funke as chief justice to the Nebraska Supreme Court. Funke has served on the Supreme Court since he was appointed an associate justice in 2016. He will move to the role of chief justice on Nov. 1, following the official retirement of Chief Justice Mike Heavican on Oct. 31.
LINCOLN, NE – On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Jim Pillen proclaimed October as Manufacturing Month in Nebraska during press conferences at Structural Component Systems in Fremont and Cargill in Schuyler. LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen has joined a letter directed to President Joe Biden, asking for immediate action to address a shortage of intravenous (IV) and peritoneal dialysis solutions. Recommendations include working with the FDA to find appropriate and trusted international manufacturers, removing barriers for importation, and taking necessary steps to prevent price gouging. The moves, say the group of governors, are designed to “address a crisis that will certainly contribute to harm and potential deaths of Americans.”
LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen says he is pleased with a recent decision by the Nebraska Board of Dentistry that will now help expand access to dental care across the state. In June, he asked the Board to consider changing the licensing standards, to include acceptance of the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX) exam. Acceptance of the additional exam will now provide a pathway for qualified dental professionals from other states to become licensed in Nebraska.
