Governor-Elect Pillen Announces First Agency Appointment

LINCOLN, NE – Today, Nebraska Governor-elect Jim Pillen announced that he will be retaining State Budget Director Lee Will. The appointment is Pillen's first agency selection.

"Will has done an incredible job for Nebraska by growing the culture within the State Budget Office of fiscal conservatism, trust, and confidentiality," said Governor-elect Pillen. "Will is a public servant focused on the betterment of Nebraska. I look forward to working with him and his entire team to continue cutting government spending so that we can provide transformative property tax relief for Nebraskans."

Will has served as the State Budget Director for over two years, working on the passage of historic tax relief efforts, reducing the growth of government, and ensuring quality service delivery to the citizens of Nebraska. Previously, Will served as a Budget Management Analyst and Division Deputy prior to his appointment as Director by Governor Ricketts in 2020. Will holds a B.A. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Pittsburgh.
