Returning Money to Taxpayers While Improving Services

 

Viewing Nebraska programs from a systems perspective has identified resources that, despite good intentions, were not generating results or impact to taxpayers.

These resources, combined with better financial stewardship and oversight on the state budget, have allowed Nebraska state government to reduce State General Fund appropriations by $200M over a three-year period (FY24-25 to FY26-27)[1] while improving the quality of services to Nebraska citizens.
