TORONTO, CANADA – On Wednesday, Governor Pete Ricketts and the Nebraska trade delegation kicked off day two of the Nebraska trade mission to Canada in Toronto.  In the morning, the Governor and Nebraska trade delegation met with Ontario Minister of Agriculture Jeff Leal to discuss the importance of trade between Nebraska and Canada to our state’s number one industry, agriculture.

This meeting was followed up by a NAFTA – Future Trade and Investment Opportunities Luncheon at the National Club in Toronto.  During the luncheon, Governor Ricketts stressed the importance of the trade relationship between Canada and Nebraska and how NAFTA is critical to increasing trade for Nebraska.  The Governor and Nebraska trade delegation then traveled to Ottawa, where they concluded day two with a Nebraska Reception at the U.S.  Ambassador’s Residence. Today, the Governor began day three of the trade mission to Canada with a Canadian Pork Council and Canadian Cattlemen Association event.
