Gov. Ricketts Thanks Economic Development Director for Growing Nebraska

LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts thanked outgoing Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) Director Dave Rippe for his outstanding service.  During his tenure, Rippe helped grow the State of Nebraska and led Nebraska to win national economic development awards.  Rippe is departing the agency to return home to Hastings where he will work in real estate and talent development.

“Thank you to Dave for everything he helped the Department of Economic Development and the State of Nebraska achieve over the last year and a half,” said Governor Ricketts.  “Under his leadership, we have attracted investments from companies like Google, Facebook, and Amazon.  Thanks to his team’s work, Nebraska won the Governor’s Cup for the most economic development projects per capita of any state for the third year in a row.  He is incredibly talented and I expect him to be a huge asset to growing our state in his future endeavors.”

“It has been a huge honor to serve Governor Ricketts and the people of Nebraska as the Director of Economic Development,” said Director Rippe.  “From the Governor and our team at DED to local economic development groups and public power, Nebraska has a great team that has put us on the map as a great place to do business.  As I return to my hometown, I’m excited about the great opportunities ahead of us to grow the state I love.”

Rippe will step down on August 9, 2019.  An interim director will be named at that time, and the Governor has already begun his search for the next director to lead the DED team.
