Gov. Ricketts to Select ServeNebraska Step Forward Award Winners
Nebraskans have until September 14th to submit nominations
LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts announced that he would select the next ServeNebraska Step Forward Award recipients. The ServeNebraska Step Forward Awards recognize significant contributions made within the State of Nebraska through volunteerism. This year’s awards will be presented on Friday, October 30, 11:00am-1:00pm at the Lodge at Mahoney State Park.
Every day volunteers step forward, going the extra mile in their communities. The ServeNebraska Step Forward Awards honor outstanding people and groups for reliably providing essential support in their communities. Winners and finalists will be awarded in these categories: Adult Volunteer, Youth Volunteer, Volunteer Group, Corporate Community Volunteer, National Service Volunteer, Veteran Volunteer, Disaster Volunteer, Community Media Partner and Lifetime Achievement.
ServeNebraska will be accepting Step Forward Award nominations through September 14, 2015.
Nomination forms detail the demonstrated leadership, innovation and hard work in services to others, the commitment to volunteerism by helping with a special project or ongoing activities that address community needs, and the creative utilization of people, resources and opportunities.
