Gov. Ricketts Seeks Applicants for Legislative District 2 Seat

LINCOLN – Today, Gov. Pete Ricketts announced that he will seek qualified applicants to fill a vacancy in Legislative District 2 that will be created by Senator Bill Kintner’s resignation. Sen. Kintner submitted his resignation effective January 30, 2017.
Applications for appointment to fill the vacancy in Legislative District 2 will be accepted immediately and until 5:00pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Applicants wishing to be considered for appointment must demonstrate that they have lived within the district for at least a full year, are registered to vote, and are at least 21 years old.
The district includes Cass County and portions of Sarpy County and Otoe County. A map of the district can be found by clicking here. The Governor reserves the right to seek out additional qualified candidates.
This appointment is for two years, and the appointee will serve until January 2019.
