Gov. Ricketts Names Michael O. Mead to 10th Judicial District Judgeship

Lincoln – Today, Gov. Pete Ricketts announced his appointment of Michael Owen Mead of Juniata to the County Court, 10th Judicial District.

Mead, 48, currently serves as the Adams County Public Defender and owns Mead Law Office in Hastings. Previously, Mead worked in private practice offices in Hastings, Minden, and Columbus.

Mead is a graduate of Creighton University School of Law. He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Mead serves on the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, Juniata Community Redevelopment Authority, and Area Substance and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Board.

The 10th Judicial District includes Adams, Clay, Fillmore, Franklin, Harlan, Kearney, Nuckolls, Phelps, and Webster Counties.
