Gov. Ricketts Names Horacio Wheelock to 4th Judicial District Judgeship
LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts announced his appointment of Horacio J. Wheelock to the Fourth Judicial District Court of Nebraska.
Wheelock, 39, is the President of Horacio Wheelock Law Offices, P.C., L.L.O. His practice primarily consists of work in the areas of immigration law, criminal defense, and civil litigation.
Wheelock has previously served as an Administrative License Revocation Hearing Officer at the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles and as an Assistant Douglas County Public Defender. He has also worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida in Dade County, Miami, Florida.
Wheelock holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance/Economics and a Masters of Business Administration from Spring Hill College as well as a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Creighton University School of Law. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
The Fourth Judicial District consists of Douglas County. The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy is Omaha, Nebraska.
Gov. Ricketts appointed Wheelock following the retirement of Judge Joseph S. Troia.
