LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts released the thirteenth episode of “The Nebraska Way” featuring writer and inspirational speaker Ashley Stevens.  During this episode, Ashley discusses her faith, turning tragedy into hope, and the age-old question of “why bad things happen to good people.”

Ashley, born in Philadelphia and raised just outside of Knoxville, Tennessee, is a speaker, writer, wife, and mother of three.  She came to Nebraska to study Business Administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  During her senior year, she converted to the Catholic faith and joined the staff with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, or FOCUS.  While serving as a campus missionary for FOCUS shortly after getting engaged, she was t-boned by a Mack truck and nearly lost her life.  She married her husband Brad on the one-year anniversary of the accident, turning a tragic day into the happiest day of their lives.  She currently writes to encourage those whose life isn't going according to plan.  You can find her writings and more on her website MountainsUnmoved.com.  Ashley and her husband, Brad, live in Lincoln, Nebraska with their three girls.
