Gov. Ricketts Comments on Potential Offutt Air Force Base Mission

LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts released a statement following news that Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska is a finalist for a major Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) mission.

“This news follows the collaborative work of Nebraskans working together to expand missions at Offutt Air Force Base. This has been a great partnership between the Governor’s Office and our federal delegation working together to grow Offutt Air Force base, one of our state’s largest employers.  This new mission could help position the base to thrive for years to come.”

Last year, Congressman Jeff Fortenberry organized the Offutt Air Force Base Task Force to conduct oversight of the runway replacement process.  Governor Pete Ricketts, Congressman Adrian Smith, and Congressman Brad Ashford assisted Fortenberry in leading the task force.
