LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts issued a statement following news that state general fund tax receipts for February were $5 million ahead of forecast, or 1.8 percent, ahead of projections.
“Tax receipts were close to projections for February. While some may see reason to be hopeful about the revenue picture, we must continue to proceed with caution. Spending restraint will be critical to balancing the budget without raising taxes. It’s important to remember that any revenue above the forecast is automatically directed towards the cash reserve at the end of the fiscal year.”
