Gov. Ricketts Appoints Mark E. Treinen to OPPD Board of Directors

LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts announced his appointment of Mark E. Treinen to the Omaha Public Power District’s (OPPD) board of directors. 


Treinen, 62, is the former president of North American Structures at Valmont Industries.  Before his time with Valmont, Treinen was an audit manager for Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., now known as KPMG.  Additionally, Treinen currently sits on the board of directors for Lester Electrical, and has formerly served on the boards of Catholic Charities of Omaha, Youth Emergency Services, and Marian High School.  He graduated magna cum laude from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree in Accounting.


Treinen will serve until January 2019.  The subdivision’s boundaries lie within Douglas County.  A map of the district can be found by clicking here.  


 The vacancy on the OPPD board of directors was created by the passing of Richard Hurley.
