Gov. Ricketts Appoints Darla S. Ideus to Third Judicial District Judgeship

LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts announced his appointment of Darla S. Ideus to the Third Judicial District Court of Nebraska.

Ideus, 45, is a partner at Baylor, Evnen, Curtiss, Grimit & Witt, LLP in Lincoln where she previously worked as an Associate.  Her 18 years in private practice have focused on family law, civil litigation, and workers’ compensation.

Ideus earned her Bachelor of Science in Human and Environmental Sciences and Political Science from Northwest Missouri State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law.

The Third Judicial District consists of Lancaster County.  The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy is Lincoln, Nebraska.

The vacancy is due to the appointment of Judge Stephanie F. Stacy to the Supreme Court bench from the Lancaster County District Court bench.
