Gov. Ricketts’ Thanksgiving Statement
LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts issued the following statement in observance of Thanksgiving Day, which will be celebrated November 28, 2019.
“Thanksgiving is an opportunity for us to reflect on the blessings we enjoy and the relationships we cherish. As we gather together to share Thanksgiving meals, let us all express gratitude for our freedoms, our friendships, and our families.”
“During this time, we are thankful for our servicemen and women both at home and abroad who have sacrificed so that we peacefully celebrate this holiday. For those who are stationed overseas, we pray for your safe return home. This year, Nebraskans are especially thankful for the first responders, disaster relief agencies, generous neighbors, and many others who helped our state recover from destructive blizzards and floods. We are blessed to live in a place with such strong, resilient, and kind-hearted people.”
“Susanne, the kids, and I wish everyone a happy and restful Thanksgiving weekend. If you will be traveling, please be watchful for weather conditions and make sure to buckle up.”
