Gov. Ricketts’ Thanksgiving Statement

LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts issued the following statement in observance of Thanksgiving Day, which will be celebrated on November 26, 2015:

“Every year, countless Nebraskans and Americans gather over Thanksgiving meals to spend time together as a family, reunite with loved ones, and express our gratitude for the enormous blessings we have received.

“Susanne, the kids, and I wish all Nebraskans a restful and joyous Thanksgiving holiday, and we urge everyone to watch the forecast closely and to travel cautiously in the event of treacherous weather.

“During this holiday season, we are grateful for the dedication of military servicemen and women who serve and protect our state and our country at home and abroad. Without their sacrifices, we could not enjoy the freedoms we cherish. We pray for the safe return of those serving overseas.”

The First Family plans to spend Thanksgiving in Nebraska City with family.
