Gov. Ricketts’ Statement on Death of Nebraska Marine

Today, Governor Pete Ricketts issued the following statement to commemorate the life and service of Captain Dustin Lukasiewicz.

“Captain Lukasiewicz’s service to our country and his contribution to relief efforts in Nepal embodies the sacrificial and charitable spirit of the people Nebraska,” said Governor Ricketts. “Susanne and I send our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. As we grieve his loss and remember his service, we urge our fellow Nebraskans to take a moment and honor him.”

Capt. Lukasiewicz of Wilcox, Nebraska served as a UH-1Y pilot and aviation safety officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. At the time of this death, he had been deployed to Afghanistan and to Nepal.
