Gov. Ricketts Appoints John H. Marsh to Ninth Judicial District Vacancy

LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts announced his appointment of John H. Marsh to the Ninth Judicial District Court of Nebraska.
Marsh, 57, is a partner at Knapp, Fangmeyer, Aschwege, Besse & Marsh, PC in Kearney. He has served as a Deputy Buffalo County Public Defender since 2007. His 22 years of private practice have focused on criminal defense, civil trial practice, and family law.
Previously, Marsh served as the Dawson County Attorney, as a Deputy Lincoln County Attorney, and as an Associate in the Law Office of Louie Ligouri.
Marsh received his Bachelor of Arts from Hastings College and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law.
The Ninth Judicial District consists of Buffalo and Hall Counties. The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy is Kearney in Buffalo County.
The vacancy is due to the retirement of Judge John P. Icenogle.
