Gov. Heineman Requests Federal Disaster Declaration

(June 13, 2008 - News Release) Governor Heineman submitted a request to President George W. Bush for a federal disaster declaration following several weeks of severe storms that have produced tornadoes, high winds, lightning, and flooding throughout much of Nebraska. The Governor’s request includes damage from winter storms beginning May 22. There are 53 of Nebraska’s 93 counties included, with the possibility of another dozen to be requested at a later date.
