December 8, 2010 Update from the Residence: The Governor and First Lady had a news conference at the house today. I enjoyed meeting the law enforcement and public safety official afterward. They help keep us safe.

October 28, 2010 Update from the Residence: Orange is my new favorite color! I had fun helping carve pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns today! And I found out pumpkin seeds are a yummy and nutritious snack.

September 3, 2010 Update from the Residence: Rock a bye puppies. Oxley has been at Snickers house to visit this week... they sure wear each other out!

August 3, 2010 Update from the Residence: Look out world! Here comes the new Snickers ready for the dog days of summer with a shorter, much cooler haircut. He looks pretty dapper after a visit to the groomer.

July 20, 2010 Update from the First Lady: The pictures attached were very cute of Snickers---shaggy hair and all. My Texas cousin Kathleen Yacio Sargent stopped by to meet him and took him for a walk. Snickers also attended the Shada Reunion with me in the morning.

July 11, 2010 Update: Snickers spent the weekend with his friends Bella and Ruby. They played outside a lot and Snickers played soccer.

July 6, 2010 Update from the Residence: Handsome boy! Snickers went to the hairdresser for a shampoo and dry. He was well behaved and stood very still.

June 24, 2010 Update from the Residence: Snickers joined me today to welcome Central Park Academy in Omaha to the Residence. I think he liked meeting the students.

June 22, 2010 Update from the Residence: Snickers and his friend Harley play in the back yard… and the pond.

June 20, 2010 Update from the Residence: Father's Day has gone to the dogs at the Residence. Snickers plays with friends Oxley and Bailey.

June 18, 2010 Update from the Residence: Snickers has a new toy – a pink and yellow snake with which Snickers just loves to wrestle and chew.

June 16, 2010 Update from the Residence: Snickers greets guests as they arrive for a function at the Residence. But, boy! Does that make him tired!

June 13, 2010 Update from the Residence: Just as Gov. Heineman returned from surveying extensive flood damage in north-central and northeast Nebraska, the First Lady was taking Snickers for a walk. However, as you can see from the photos, Snickers really wants to take himself for a walk!

June 11, 2010 Update from the Residence: Snickers has been losing his baby teeth. He fully expects a visit from the tooth fairy. A new bone may be in his future!

Update from the First Lady: Snickers got his first fan club e-mail! From one dog to another. It reads:
"Dear Snickers, My mom read your blog and she really enjoyed it. I think I should write a blog. Do they pay you for writing? I would like to be paid in dog treats! Of course, all I do is eat, sleep, bark, eat more, sleep more and bark more! Love, Melanie June James, 9-year-old black and tan dachshund.

May 25, 2010 Update from the Residence: Lately Snickers has been picking up his own leash and taking himself on a walk! He enjoys strolling around in the yard.

May 7, 2010 Update from the Residence:Snickers plays with his friends Oxley and Harley who have came to visit today. The three pals enjoyed playing together and of course, chasing their tails!

Update from the Capitol: Governor takes a walk around the Capitol with the First Puppy. Snickers enjoyed being carried up the stairs, as he wasn't too anxious to run up the north steps, yet. Snickers also greeted Future Farmers of America students visiting the Capitol today.

Update from the First Lady: Well, Snickers did his first mistake. A lady put her rose she received standing up by the bench in the foyer, and Snickers grabbed the stem and started to run, she grabbed the rose, and the flower broke off where she had grabbed it. Ooooops!! I apologized and offered to replace it and have it delivered to her. However, another woman gave her the rose she had also received. So, it worked out...naughty little thief!
