Gov. Heineman Reminds Nebraskans to Fly Flags
at Half-Staff on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman reminded Nebraskans to fly their flags at half-staff in observance of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on Thursday, Dec. 7.
“Lowering the flag each year on December 7 ensures that we remember the victims and honor the heroes of that fateful day,” Gov. Heineman said. “May we always remember their sacrifice and the sacrifices of all those who carry on that legacy of service and bravery in their duties today.”
Congress designated Dec. 7 as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, and President George W. Bush signed a proclamation ordering flags to be flown at half-staff nationwide.
