Gov. Heineman Reminds Nebraskans to Fly Flags
at Half-Staff on Memorial Day Morning

(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman reminded Nebraskans that all U.S. and Nebraska flags are to be flown at half-staff on Monday, May 29 per presidential proclamation to honor the service of American men and women in uniform. Flags are to be flown at half-staff until noon.

Gov. Heineman said, “On behalf of all Nebraskans, I salute the many heroes who have served our country with honor. I ask that we take time this weekend to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day, and to honor the courage and bravery of those who have sacrificed for our freedom and that of others around the world.”

President George W. Bush signed a proclamation on May 16 requesting that flags be flown at half-staff until mid-day.
