Gov. Heineman Commends Legislature
for Achieving Tax Relief
(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman commended Sen. Dave Landis of Lincoln, Sen. Pam Redfield of Omaha, Sen. Ray Janssen of Nickerson and the Legislature on final-round passage of LB 968, the tax-relief package shaped and supported by the Legislature’s Revenue Committee, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office.
Gov. Heineman said, “Before this legislative session, we set two priorities: tax relief and spending restraint. We made the first steps toward improving our tax climate last year with the Nebraska Advantage jobs-creation economic incentive package, and we said the focus this year would be individual tax relief. I am pleased for Nebraskans and their families that Senator Landis, Senator Redfield, Senator Janssen and the Legislature have taken a second important step toward making Nebraska a better place to live and work.”
