Gov. Heineman Reminds Nebraskans to Fly Flags at Half-Staff on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

(Lincoln, NE)Gov. Dave Heineman reminded Nebraskans to fly their flags at half-staff in observance of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

“On this anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, we remember the victims and honor the heroes of that day by lowering our flags,” Gov. Heineman said. “Observing this anniversary ensures that we not only remember those who have fallen for the sake of freedom as so many did on that fateful day more than 60 years ago, but that we remember all those who carry on that legacy of bravery and service in their duties today.”

Congress has designated Dec. 7 as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, and President George W. Bush signed a proclamation ordering flags to be flown at half-staff nationwide.
