Gov. Heineman’s Statement in Support
of Fuel Price Gouging Task Force
(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman today issued the following statement in support of Attorney General Jon Bruning’s decision to empanel a task force to investigate whether Nebraskans have endured illegal price gouging at the state’s fuel pumps:
“The volatility of fuel prices has been hard on all Nebraskans, particularly those who farm, ranch or drive for a living. I applaud the Attorney General for exercising his authority to investigate possible fuel price gouging. The State of Nebraska continues to do its part to ensure the adequate availability of fuel supplies, including several executive orders to address supply, and yet consumers are still experiencing high prices at the pump. I look forward to the results of the investigation.”
