Gov. Heineman’s Statement on Positive August Revenues Report
(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman today issued the following statement regarding the release of August revenue receipts from the Nebraska Department of Revenue, which showed total net tax receipts more than $43.95 million over projections:
“This was another solid month of progress, but there were also some reasons for continued caution. Sales and income tax revenues were below projections for the first time in several months.
“That shortfall was offset by unusually high miscellaneous receipts. As the release indicates, we had a one-time spike in estate tax payments.”
