(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman announced the list of candidates interested in serving as election commissioner for Douglas County.

Applicants include Tammi Adams, Michael Cavanaugh, George Davis, Jr., Richard Galusha, Wayne Hohndorf, Cynthia Hopp, Michael Kennedy, Karen Loftis, Patrick McPherson, David Phipps, Michael Shanahan, and Larry Sweley.

The Governor will appoint a commissioner to serve through 2007, and may also seek out additional qualified candidates for the position.

Nebraska law gives authority for appointing election commissioners in the state’s three largest counties to the Governor.
