Gov. Heineman Reminds Nebraskans to
Fly Flags at Half-Staff on Memorial Day Morning
(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman today reminded Nebraskans that all U.S. and Nebraska flags are to be flown at half-staff on Monday, May 30 per presidential order to honor the selfless service of American men and women in uniform. Flags are to be flown at half-staff until noon.
Gov. Heineman said, “On behalf of all Nebraskans, I salute the heroes who served this country with honor and ask that we take a moment to pause this weekend in remembrance of the true meaning of Memorial Day and honor the courage and bravery of those who have sacrificed all for our freedom.”
President George W. Bush signed a proclamation on May 20 ordering flags to be flown at half-staff nationwide.
