Gov. Heineman Comments on Meth Bill’s
Advancement to Final Reading

(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman today commended the Nebraska Legislature for advancing LB 117 to final reading. The bill designed to target the makers and dealers of methamphetamine in Nebraska.

Gov. Heineman said, “This bill is bad news for meth cooks and dealers in Nebraska. It stiffens the penalties for dealers and will make it harder to manufacture meth in our communities and rural areas. I am very pleased that the Legislature followed the lead of Senator Pat Bourne and others who stepped up to support this bill in recognizing the importance of combating this extremely dangerous drug.”
