Gov. Heineman Narrows List of
District 14 State Senator Hopefuls to Six

(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman has narrowed the list of hopefuls to six candidates for appointment to the Nebraska Legislature seat of outgoing Sen. Nancy Thompson of LaVista, who has announced that she will resign the seat after this year’s session to become executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands.

The Governor will interview finalists and announce his choice in the coming weeks. No formal action will be taken until the seat is vacated.

Gov. Heineman received a dozen applications for appointment to the seat. An additional candidate, Jan Davis of Papillion, was added.

Finalists are as follows: Joe Chase, Tim Gay, Jan Davis, John Strawn, Robert Whitehouse and John Witzel, all of Papillion.
